You don’t have to be a poet junkie to have heard of Robert Burns. Born in Scotland on the 25th January 1759 and dying on the 21st July 1796, he has been dubbed Scotland’s favourite son. Each year the Scottish, along with other nationalities worldwide, spend the evening of the 25th January to celebrate his works.
Throughout the evening’s festivities, you can expect to see lots of men in kilts, listen to various Robert Burn’s poems and taste the famous haggis dish. And let’s not forget the whiskey; it wouldn’t be a Scottish celebration without it!
